Local Abbeville police like to set up shop in the medians by the Hardees on U.S. 431. Most likely they are trying to nab spring-breakers headed to Panama City. I drive this route all the time, and they are not usually there except during Spring Break, and the summer months.

Comment (5/2003): I travel through Abbeville 8-10 times a year for the last 9 years and I've never seen these cops run radar.I didn't even know thay had a police department until I saw a 300 lbs officer in Hardes.

Abbeville police love to sit in the cut-throughs on highway 431 just after crossing from Barbour County into Henry County. Usually somewhere just before you get to Great Southern Wood Company and the big Welcome to Abbeville sign.
