Comment (3/2006): Entered this town daydreaming one day before i notice a patrol car. Knowing the town's reputation, i immediately looked down at my speedometer and was doing right at 60 which was 10 mph over the limit. I was pulled over and told i was doing 67. Arguing over the radar reading did no good of course. Several days later, Mobile newspaper did a story on Creola's reputation as a speed trap. In the story, the police chief of course denied that and stated that his officers only stop those doing at least 15 mph over the limit. So what goes on there at best is poorly maintained radar equipment. More likely it is radar equipment rigged to give a reading of 16 or 17 mph over actual speed.

Comment (6/2006): i think you stated that you were speeding 10 mph over the speed limit, note key word speeding.

Comment (12/2007): used to live just south of creola..crime int the area so bad you risk losing your lawn furniture if you leave it outside, and hardly any patrols on the streets except out writing tickets on the highway..also recieved a ticket for a speed the vehicle i was in wasnt phisically capable of achieving. it was geared and governed 7 mph LESS than the citation said i was going..the road is relatively flat there with no hills to effect a driver\'s speed. also was redared (supposedly) in the pouring rain..the manual for the motorola unit STATES: device not accurate in rainy conditions.went in frond of judge to fight ticket...can YOU say \"kangaroo\"?
