Police describe main highway through the city as a Walking Community. Lowered speed limits to 25mph. THIS IS A COUNTY HIGHWAY.

Comment (7/2002): Speed limits throughout this town are ridiculously low, much lower than similar streets and roads elsewhere in the county. Why? To write tickets (revenue), of course.

Non residential area, mainly old business district. There is one posting on the side of a telephone pole at 20mph. Expect to be ticketed at 35 regardless if your the leading car or the last. Much priority is placed on the type of vehicle you drive, if somewhat expensive...expect a ticket

Sits at entrance to asphalt plant waiting for cars exiting curve from west. They are behind a sign that blocks your view of officer until its too late. They are agressive and revenue hungry. County road with a snail pace 30 MPH limit.

Police hide behind trees in non occupied homes yard. Also in deserted building. Low speeds in all of Alabaster. Generally 30 to 35. Cops everywhere with no heart. They pull you over in packs. One pulls you over then 5 more appear and surround you.

Alabaster has 3 motorcycle offices. One of them hides at Thompson Rd and Pacific Dr. on the down side of a hill. The posted speed is 30MPH but at the top of the hill just 100 yards away it is 45 MPH. This is a real revenue producer. It's all about Money and quotas.

Thompson Rd at the intersection of Pacific dr. Motorcycle hides over the crest of hill. Speed limit just changed from 45mph to 30 mph. Good revenue producer for Alabaster. Be careful.
