Coming down the hill headed toward Oxford after you pass Ron Newton Chevrolet a cop is almost always at the foot of the hill. Speed limit going down this hill is 35mph which means you could probably get a ticket if you were driving a little red wagon! This hill is commonly refered to as "Revenue Hill".
Comment (9/2006): Agree with comment, but it's Ron Newton Pontiac Cadilac.

Policemen, highway patrols, you name it, constantly surveying the hwy (Hwy 21), sitting in the median, behind buildings, on the side of the road as you top a hill,or just out in the open everywhere. You seldom drive from Jacksonville to Anniston or Oxford, Alabama without seeing at least, 5-6 police cars on that one stretch of highway, and the red lights in Anniston are horrible, you would think you were in a MAJOR city. About 25 red lights from Jacksonville to Oxford alone, and heaven help you if you go through a yellow light if a police car is around. Traffic is terrible too, something should be done to eliminate some of the traffic lights. It is riduclous, and the lights change so fast, that you are bound to run a yellow light, and I think it is done ON PURPOSE, so they CAN stop you...I would rather drive in Birmingham, Alabama than down Quintared Blvd (hwy 21) ANYTIME

State Trooper patrol in both directions, most of the day. Any one stopped on this road is subject to statements by the trooper that are fabrications to the true events.

On downside of hill on Greenbriar-Dear Rd in direction of Quintard Ave. Speed limit drops from 45 to 35 mph 1/3 - 1/2 way down steep road. Anniston PD usually sits at corner of Sleeping Giant Rd. facing uphill, less than 50 yds from speed limit sign. You almost have to stand on your brakes to keep from getting a ticket.

Going down 202 just before you get to the bridges in front of the county jailhouse, there is almost always an officer on the side of the road facing the oncoming traffic. The speed limit drops from 55 to 45 and he will be on the other side of a small hill about a mile down the road.
