Speed limits decrease rapidly in curve. Patrol car sits at top of curve and radars you as you break the treeline entering the curve. Not beneath Officer to falsify speed to increase city revenue.
Comment (03/2008): If you had ever witnessed some of the horrific fatal accidents along this stretch of highway over the years, you might understand why many people in the Bradley area appreciate job the officers do.
Comment (06/2008): I truly suspect that the person making the comment is one of those benefiting from the extra revenue - police, mayor, city employees, etc.. Just before the curve you have 55 sign, then reduce speed, then 45 sign - each sign about 12 ft apart. THEN the curve where the honest policeman sits. While you are reading the signs and not braking the police is shooting straight at you. To meet the 45 speed you \"must\" rapidly apply your brake. I was doing \"according\" to the officer 56 - Hey, now it is 1 mph over the 10 mph limit so I received the $150 ticket. I would have had to immediately apply my brakes instead of just taking my foot off the accelerator and letting the car slow by itself. And yes, I too believe the officer would \"stretch the truth\" to get the revenue. I was raised in small Arkansas and Louisiana towns and know how they protect their own so not much chance in court. ABOUT the accidents - just marlarky - road is way too curvy to be doing any high speed. THAT is the reason the \"honest\" police have to \"fudge\" the clocked speed. The whole Bradley thing makes me ashamed to admit I am Arkansas born (Smackover - yes small and probably has to lower itself to \"stretched speed\" tickets to meet the budget.

Speed limits drop quickly in approach to curve. Patrol car parked ahead behind tree uses radar to target vehicles as they clear treeline and enter curve. Patrolman exaggerates speed violation to increase penalty.

Stopped after I checked my speed at 45 in 45 mph zone. I've travelled same road for 17 years) Two local police pulled me over said I was going 55 in 45. 2 against one, I didn't have a chance! Sits on side road, hidden by trees on curve south of town. Hardly ever sits in open area.

Speed limit drops from 55 to 45 as you approach the town, then changes to 40 as the road bends making it hard to see much less slow down. The cop sits at the end of the bend in the road. He works both ends of this "town" from the same spot.

Bradley is a town of less than two hundred people 18 miles south of US 82 and five miles north of the Louisana state line. The town limits are only one-half mile wide. Speed limit signs go from 55 to 50 to 45 to 40 in a few yards. The town of Bradley has two police cars and one at least is 24/7 and sit in the parking lot of the only building (a gas station) on the highway, which is at the 40 mile limit sign so they shoot the radar at that sign. They expecially like trucks going from IH 30 in Hope, Ark to IH 20 in Shreveport, La. Traffic fines are 91% of town's total revenue. The state of Arkansas has tried to eliminate this trap but so far has only been able to raise the limit from 25 to the current 40 mph.
