This town at one time had a great Police Force. That has changed now and the new officers love finding people to give tickets to. Not the brightest group of officers but they only do what there overpaid mayor tells them to. Gotta pay her salary.

Comment (5/2004): This little town became a speed trap when the new Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport (XNA) opened. (You have to drive through Cave Springs to get to the airport from many parts of NWA.) Their police regulate traffic at all hours of the day in their 30MPH zone, presumably waiting for someone who is running late for a flight. Also watch out for Elm Springs, just south on highway 112. Otherwise a nice road to travel by motorcycle between Bentonville and Fayetteville!

Comment (4/2005): Interesting reading about this small berg. Need to check into the statistics of how many tickets were written for speeding. Seems they keep pretty good records there now as compared to the "former" who kept none. Those caught speeding because of late to a flight should have left home sooner. Lived here long time and find our officers now are a good deal better than before.

Comment (4/2005): Keep in mind that the officers in this little town are also policing an area well known to the county courts as being a serious "drug manufacturing haven" because of it's rural areas and accessability to the larger towns in all directions. One of the hazards these officers face is that they stop some hopped up meth user who decides to run and put everyone on the highway at risk. Growth does have a price and Cave Springs is paying it.

Comment (4/2005): Seems someone got a ticket for speeding and they are mad about it. It really does not matter if you are late for a flight or not however it will matter if you come trough and hit someones family and kill one of them. Let it be known for the record I am an officer there and I gladly invite you to look at my ticket book. I do not write tickets that are less than 15 mph over the limit and quite frankly they are most of the time 20 to 25 mph over the limit. You may call it what you want but the fact is the law is 35 mph and the city does not post the speed limit. The State of Arkansas does. Call your Congressman/women. By the way I have all the respect for our Mayor and for those that are uneducated the Chief of Police runs the Police department. But thanks for showing your true colors. We will be on duty when you need us. Respectfully, Cave Springs Police Department.

Comment (1/2006): Speed limit in Arkansas is 60 mph if it is not posted. Arkansas code 271-51-201 tjhe cops in this town do not know the law.
