Coming in from Degray Lake towards Caddo Valley on Highway 67 is where the super trap is. The Caddo Valley police department doesnt have many cop cars and they dont have light bars on top. They love nothing more to pull you over for the slightest infraction. So at least drive 5 under!

Comment (1/2005): Police dept. back on the job. Saw one car pulled over yesterday coming up the hill from swimming area.

Comment (8/2004): Coming in from Degray lake towards Caddo Valley is NOT hwy 67. It's Hwy 7. I drive it often and have driven past police units sometimes doing at least 5 over & have never been stopped. They do work that area alot since it's the main road through that very small town, but they seem to be fair to me.

Comment (11/2004): My friend got pulled over and got a nice little ticket driving down hwy 7. Going before the judge caused my friend to pay more than she would have to just pay the original fine.

Comment (1/2005): That was true, now that Caddo Valley no longer has a police department the tickets have slowed considerably now the town is being patrolled by State and County, so relax when you are driving through this nice town.

Comment (3/2005): I was born in Arkadelphia, and as far back as I can remember this area has been a major speed trap. Just know to slow down.

Comment (5/2005): I have lived here in arkadelphia/caddo valley region for a long time. i have seen the cops cut off hichhikers and harrass them. i have seen two cop cars pull over someone for speeding. i have seen them search vehicles without probable cause. i never go the speed limit i go under and would recomend anyone going to hotsprings take there time when you go through caddo valley. the cops will pull you over if you have a third brake light out. trust me i know that one from expereince

Comment (5/2005): Have had similar experience on the other side of Arkadelphia in the town of Friendship. Rolled through a stop sign (stopped for one second instead of three) and had my truck searched for a good fourty five minutes. Also, find out what one hour during the week their police department-courthouse-barber shop-baitshop is open before you drive two hours to pay your fine.Seriously though,it's a bad trap and I've often taken the road to malvern as opposed to the interstate and seen people being searched going through and coming back.

Comment (7/2005): I got stopped about a week ago for going 72/55. I was given a warning and let go. I think that it might be a attuide problem with the people getting the tickets. These police officers are very nice. I spoke with the city and asked how many speeding tickets were issued a month and they stated about 5. I think you peope need to get your facts straight.

Comment (7/2005): Don't speed. Don't drink and drive. Don't do drugs. Then you will have no problems. The people that gets tickets deserve them. Think how many lives have been saved.

Comment (7/2005): What if the person they just stopped for speeding is drunk. What if the person was about to wreck and is going KILL YOUR FAMILY. I think these guys need a thank you and not this bull that yall have been putting up. THINK ABOUT IT

Comment (9/2005): As far as getting searched for no reason thats not true. everyone has the right to refuse a search so if you were being searched you must have consented. as far as the speeding goes the speed limit is posted as long as you are doing it you won't have a problem in this town.

Comment (11/2005): Caddo Valley has had a bad reputation since i have lived in the area, but they are doing their jobs. They stop people who need to be stopped. Hwy 7 is a route traveled by many drunks every night. Cut these guys a break they are doing this to save mine and your lives! Think about this next time you drive through the valley and see a car stopped, that car might be drunk and driving toooo fast and could of hit and killed your mother, sister, brother, father or yourself. I agree with many of the statements on this page. I feel that people do not take responsabiltiy for their actions. If you get stopped and recieve a ticket and don't feel you deserve it, take it to court. That what court is for! Take it from me. I've studied law for the past 5 years at HSU. If you have REALLY been wronged by the government take the proper procedures to make it right.

Comment (3/2006): they don't stop the local people just the ones they think will pay and go on down the road

Comment (08/2008): Highway 7 is one big speed trap between Caddo Valley and Hot Springs all year long, but especially during the early spring horse racing season in Hot Springs and all summer long while tourist traffic is high. The main reason it is a year around speed trap is that Caddo Valley is in \"Dry\" county, and Hot Springs is not. Many of the young adults going to one of the two colleges in Arkadelphia go to Hot Springs to purchase alcohol and to go \"clubbing\". Police are looking to get the drinkers off the road and searches are frequent to stop those bringing back quantities of boose. I travel this road frequently, and just make it a point to forget about making time and relax and enjoy the pretty drive.
