Entering Cave City from either the north or south the speed limit starts at 45 to 35 MPH and is strictly enforced. There is lots of nooks and crannies for the town police to hide. People from the tri-county areas have been known to take back roads miles out of the way at night or day for their own reasons to keep from coming through town. Touching a painted line on either side also seems to be a favorite of the local police. Be careful out there!

Comment (3/2005): The police here wait near the edge of the city limits and ticket people speeding up right before the sign. Many of my friends have been ticketed here going between 45 and 50 within yards of the 55 sign. It's all about buying the new patrol car folks.

Comment (1/2006): Cave City is bad I live in Batesville and would like to by a home in cave city but the city police are all over people when coming into town no one needs that kind of treetment
