The Clarksville city police sit in the median just around a curve in the interstate, you can see them if you are east bound, but if you are west bound you do not see them until you are like within 100 ft of them and then it's too late. In this town don't bother pleading innocent, they will find you guilty anyway. This is a true speedtrap!
Comment (6/2006): I've also seen motorcycle cops on top of overpasses running radar, then using their radios to contact State Police cars sitting on the on-ramps 2 miles down the road. When you get to the police cars, they match the description, pull you over, and write you a ticket. No questions asked!
Comment (6/2006): The State Police sit right under the overpass at the 53 mile marker catching east bound traffic, and under the overpass at the 50 mm catching west bound traffic
Comment (12/2006): They are out on the highway but since there is no ploblem in town how can you call it a speed trap. They are only ticketing speeders on the internet and you have to be going fairly high over the speed limit to get a ticket. I have never heard anyone who lives here refer to it as a speed trap. Boring yes.
Comment (08/2008): We don\'t have motorcycle cops.

State police will sit under the overpass at exit 55. Both eastbound and westbound traffic need to take caution when traveling through this area.
