Speed limits not adequately posted. Not enough breaking time between decreasing speed zones.
Comment (11/2002): This is one of the worst Speed Traps that I have ever seen, they clock and pull people over out side of the town. to make it worse the city of only 400 people has their own court... so I guess that makes it easier for a conviction
Comment (5/2004): I just moved to a town just outside of Fort Smith, and now have to commute through the "marked" town of Central City. This is indeed a speed trap. Their sole police cruiser can be spotted everyday hidding for revenue. He's much more consistent than you can be, and it's far too easy to get a ticket. Mine was 54 in a 40! This ought to be illegal.

Westbound on SH22 coming into the city, you have about 2-3 miles of 55mph, then a rapid drop to 40mph. Not knowing this, can cost you dearly. They always have someone pulled over in the daytime up till 9 or 10 at night. All cars are marked but hidden. This is the city before reaching another speedtrap in Barling. These cities live off of speeding tickets.
