Comment (5/2004): I just moved to a town just outside of Fort Smith, and now have to commute through the "marked" town of Central City. This is indeed a speed trap. Their sole police cruiser can be spotted everyday hidding for revenue. He's much more consistent than you can be, and it's far too easy to get a ticket. Mine was 54 in a 40! This ought to be illegal.

Westbound on SH22 coming into the city, you have about 2-3 miles of 55mph, then a rapid drop to 40mph. Not knowing this, can cost you dearly. They always have someone pulled over in the daytime up till 9 or 10 at night. All cars are marked but hidden. This is the city before reaching another speedtrap in Barling. These cities live off of speeding tickets.

Their sole police cruiser can be spotted everyday hidding for revenue. He's much more consistent than you can be, and it's far too easy to get a ticket. Mine was 54 in a 40! This ought to be illegal.
