Comment (6/2004): The Kartchner Caverns speed drop area has been dropped. It's now 65mph all the way to just North of Whetstone, where it drops to 55 through the built-up area.

Comment (1/2003): City:(should be)Benson/Whetstone I travel this one often and run a radar detector. It is extremely rare to find a parked State Patrol car running a trap.

Comment (2/2003): From MP 298 on Highway 90 Southbound, and MP 300 Northbound, speed drops from 65mph to 55mph past Kartchner Caverns State Park. There use to be a "Reduced Speed" sign, but this has been removed.

Comment (3/2003): I drive it every day and have yet to see anything that I would even remotely call regular enforcement, besides the Border Patrol Check Point is gone, meaning no place to hide. Enjoy.

Comment (4/2004): I was there yesterday, and saw someone pulled over in front of the entrance to Kartchner Caverns State Park. Yes, the Border Patrol Checkpoint is still there. They didn't have it in effect though, but there were plenty of BP cars and officers in and around it. Be especially careful around Huachuca City and Sierra Vista. The speed limit does drop in both of these places.
