officer hides along side of road on non-paved off-shoots along 395 Watch out! Super aggressive officers, will try to look and prod for drugs, weapons, excessive amounts of money. Very nasty and agressive police force!!
Comment (1/2003): As A former police officer in Cali...police are required to be sitting in plain view and in marked vehicles.
Comment (1/2003): They are no longer there own police force. Now contracted through the county sheriff. Should be a little more accountable.
Comment (2/2003): We are? We are not req'd to be in plain view. The roadway must be surveyed and the officer must be certified on radar to use it. Those are the only requirements. Just add a violator and we have a winning combination! Now if, everyone drove relative to the roadway and the conditions, tickets for speeding would go down.
Comment (3/2003): Police are NOT required to be sitting in plain view. They only need to be in a police uniform and in a police car. The law does not say anything about hiding. Believe me, I learned the hard way.

While radar tickets are a high risk thing, this no-horse town boasts a police dept of about 20 cars and they have absolutely nothing better to do than attempt to issue bogus traffic citations for virtually anything they think they can get away with.
