CHP regularly patrols the infamous Baker grade and I-15 in the few miles up to the Nevada border. Don't even think about speeding past the border. Fortunately the speed limit does not decrease when entering into Stateline/ Prim NV. Beware that Nevada State Police and CHP both heavily patrol their sides of the border. However, NV State Police usually leave their radars on constantly (unlike CHP) so they are easily detected.

Comment (12/2002): Truckers beware this is a very popular spot for CHP to get you coming off the hill. So dont think you got it made just because you can see AMERICA again.

Comment (6/2003): In a recent news story, it was published that the CHP are monitoring for drivers going 100mph and over, since this gives a minimum of $500 fine plus some other fines.

Comment (10/2003): Would this be the same news organization that reported that the 'stealth' camaros the CHP uses are only meant to sneak up on truckers who have a higher line of sight and therefore an easier time spotting normal CHP cruisers? I've had the opportunity to see 6 of these stealths by the side of the road, and not one of them was citing a diesel driver. 4 sports cars, an SUV, and a minivan. Conclusion: The CHP *LIES* for a living.

Comment (10/2003): Don't forget, these Camaros also come in the black and white flavor too. Their silhouette is difficult to pick up, especially at night. They have run with and without their fog lights as to confuse drivers into thinking that they're benign.

Comment (12/2003): Beware...NHP issued a RFP for MPH Bee III radar guns with POP mode. These guns cannot be detected by radar detectors. You can read up about them at www.speedzones.com and at www.valentine1.com/pop/
