Posted speed limit is 40mph, however, prevailing speeds are 55mph. Road leads from the Airport and is very sparsely settled. If you travel at 40mph, you will impede traffic. Speed limit is well below prevailing safe traffic speeds and are unrealistic.

Comment (7/2005): The speed limit was previously 55 mph on Tower Road, but was reduced to 40 mph when the area was annexed by Commerce City. 40 mph is grossly underposted for the road conditions in this area. While I haven't seen police pulling anyone over, the area bears watching. Perhaps the unrealistic limit was posted to encourage people to use the nearby E-470 toll road to go to the airport!
