Look for the lines on the street which the camera uses to calculate your speed

Comment (10/2005): Commenter one and three is correct... isn't a traffic light there anyway...

Comment (8/2005): Just got a letter in the mail for photo moving violation for going 13 miles over the speed limit at 5400 block of 16th St., NW. The fine is $100.

Comment (11/2005): they got me 3 months ago on 16th street southbound. $100 fine if I remember correctly...

Comment (9/2005): wrong; those are used to trigger the traffic light.

Comment (9/2005): No, you're wrong. The hash marks in the road DO trigger speed cameras. You can spot them throughout town in DC, where the city has stooped to revenue generation as the primary motivator in traffic enforcement.

Comment (3/2006): I got one in the email about a week ago for this. In the picture they had, you could clearly see the "lines in the road" used to determine your speed i guess. The fine was $50 if I paid within a certain timeframe. After that, the fine doubled.

Comment (7/2006): The location is in front of the William Fitzgerald Tennis Center...when you see the stadium slow down...and the person with the comment about triggeringtraffic lights the lights at either end of this block are well further than a city block, and the only thing in DC that can trigger a light is an emergency vehicle...

There's often an unmarked car parked just in front of or in the parking lot of the large apartment complex on the north side of Porter, just west of Rock Creek. Limit is 30, but so easy to go fast coming down the hill from Klingle. be careful

Cameras mounted on shoulder in front of Fitzgerald Tennis Center on 16th St. NW. Received my ticket today doing 43 in a 30. Look for white stripes on the ground at this location and slow down, the fine is $50 if paid within 60 days, then jumps to $100.
