50 mph speed limit abruptly lowers to 25mph when road conditions do not change. Police radar is curiously used at this point.
Comment (7/2006): this is definitely a speed trap. all of route 26 is 35mph or higher except dagsboro, where a single sign warns you it drops to 25. watch for the unmarked police cruiser a few blocks west of city center. i thought only school zones and roads with on-street parking were allowed to have 25mph speed limits. oh . .. i guess we should expand that towns not smart enough to figure out that no one will come to their restaurant and movie theatre if you risk a $225 ticket when you do so.
Comment (9/2006): $226 you must have been doing a little more than speeding bud. If you were just speeding, your base fine would have been $140 which would make somewhere around $201 and thats for 40 over. Anyway, yes the town has a 25 mph speed limit but rarley does anyone ever adhear to it. I think the town does a good job at slowing the tourists down.
