They usually sit in one of the small business parking lots on the northbound side right before the turnoff to go into Rodney Village. Its a dark area of 13 at night and you'll never see them unless your looking for them or they already have you lit up.
Comment (12/2006): There used to be a law in DE that stated RADAR units had to be on the highway right of way not in the woods or in a parking lot not owned by the state or city without owners written request. was considered entrapment

Dover PD recently has set up an enforcement zone for beach travelers! Just south of Dover AFB Main Gate they set up in the median where the highway crosses under the flight path at the entrance to a gravel pit. Heading South they will get you as you cross under the Main Gate overpass, heading north, they will get you as you round the curve just south of the base. Their jurisdiction has been extended to 1 mile south of the base. Beware!

Cops park on either side of road and usually get traffic going toward downtown Dover. The speed limit is 35 but with 2 lanes in both directions and no residential development you would think the speed limit would be higher.
