There is an undercover cop. They have 2 2002 impalas, one is brown the other is gray. They will get you when go over the hill.

Comment (11/2004): update, please.

Comment (5/2005): 1st: They are NOT UNDERCOVER "cops"! They are traffic Officers in unmarked cars!2nd:The reason for this enforcement is that (5),that's right,FIVE senior citizens were killed in one vehicle because someone was speeding, ran a red light, and T-boned their car.I was a Deputy Sheriff then and I hope I never have to see anything like this again. That area of Yamato became a "speedway" after it was "improved" & widened!

Comment (10/2005): Three elderly couples were killed about TEN YEARS AGO when the speed limit was 50 (ever since 45 mph) because there wasn't an indicator advising motorists driving west, downhill, that the stoplight was about to turn red at the entrance/exit to a development populated by residents over 55 years old. Since that flashing yellow warning light was installed, there hasn't been a fatality at that intersection, to my knowledge. The speed limit is 45 mph on a SIX LANE ROAD, the newest and best east/west stretch from Jog to US 441. Cops have turned it into revenue-raiser. Writing tickets is the vocation of our vehicular police; their avocation is shooting and tasering to death unthreatening civilians. Cops in unmarked c ars ARE UNDERCOVER. More often though they line up ten or more motorcyclists on the road shoulder while a uniformed server and protector takes radar pictures of motorists as they crest the Turnpike overpass. Traffic on this thoroughfare is generally light, and I've seen very few instances of reckless driving on it. Drivers going east, who have passed the entrappers, should do what they can to warn drivers going the other way what lies in wait for them.Thank you for the posting on behalf of those who don't know the area well.

Comment (12/2005): Just my .02 cents but I never see Police in this area, unless they are driving the road. As far as traps to, I don't see them here.

Comment (3/2006): Also, the County Sherriff will have Motocycle, hiding in the Pedestrian part of the bridge. They will write dozens of tickets.

Comment (3/2006): There are more than 2 Chevy's. They are writing citations for doing over 60 in a 45 where they routinely write for 80+. Speed trap? I think not. Reasonable enforcement in an area where 6 people were killed and a driver convicted for the crime.

Comment (5/2006): Yes, this is a "Speed trap" area, however, if you pay attention to the surroundings while your driving, and look ahead past the hood of your car, you should be ok. We know this is an enforcement area. You may travel this stretch of road daily, if so, you know when the road just doesen't "look right". Look for the vehicles parked ahead on the side of the road (Police cars or not, you may only be able to see the guy ahead of you getting HIS ticket)The officers' car may not be visible because he is in front of the violator car, or the officer may be on a mototcycle.. No matter how fast your going, make sure your at 45 mph or so when you reach the top of that hill. Don't be the "leader of the pack" in other words, stay behind someone (or group) because conventional radar is not accurate enough to determine which vehicle is the violator. Let someone else take the lead, AND the ticket. In this area, in the past 3 years, there have been a total of 9 vehicle crashes;3 of them with fatal injuries; and 1 involving a school bus (non-fatal)and 1 of them a roll-over. This is a dangerous stretch of road. Please be careful.
