Highway patrol has several spots to hide on each side of overpass, Typically 3 patrol cars at a time work the area and issues tickets for 82 MPH and up. Lots of takers.
Comment (4/2003): I used to cross Alligator Alley often for work. People used to pass me doing 80-90 and I did not care as they were the ones to get nailed. Just do 75 or under and you will be fine. The biggest danger on AA is fog which can be quite intense if it forms.
Comment (11/2003): I ride a 96 harley and no one in there right mind is going to go 80or 90mph when posted 70 the cops see a lot of death so keep in mind they dont get up in the morning waiting to write you a ticket you go that fast your asking for it ........
Comment (4/2004): i drive 85 all the time on the alley, never been pulled over , just fyi
Comment (01/2008): Traveling on the Alley just east of Naples I saw off in the distance 5 patrol cars with takers. I passed doing about 60mph and got pulled over. Much to my surprise I got a ticket for doing 89mph. \"THE PLANE, THE PLANE\" You gotta watch out for planes. Although I didn\'t see any planes in sight the trooper told me one had clocked me speeding. $188 fine. The trooper told me to keep it under 85 lol
Comment (03/2008): My girlfriend got stopped cop in unmarked car when she was travelling WB around marker 45. This area is \"construction zone\" (even though WB is absolutely pristine asphault with no cones or barricades) and posted 55, which of course is insane as going that slow is downright dangerous on AA. One month later, my brother got pulled over by same cop going EB in same area. Both times, officer was \"out of his mind\" and \"extremely verbally abusive\". Don\'t know what gives, but watch out in this area.
Comment (04/2008): Keep it at 80, you\'ll be OK
