I am not sure this is a consistent speed trap, however I did see an officer writing a ticket here today. Sorry I don't have more info. This may or may not be worth payign attention to

Comment (2/2004): Doraville is one of the worst areas in Atlanta, they also sit on Peachtree Industrial and on 285 from 85 to Peachtree Dunwoody.

Comment (1/2005): This is the ulimate speed trap. The most likely spots to get stopped are on the northern arc of I-285 in north Atlanta. Also on Peacthtree Industrial Blvd. north of I-285 for about 2 miles. I never miss a night that I do not see someone stopped north and south on this road. Look out for them in the east bound lane of I-285 FACING WEST IN THE SHADOWS of the overpasses. These people are ruthless and will pick on you for tail lights out cracked windshields and anyother nit picky thing. Be careful and go S L O W !

Comment (2/2005): Doraville on 285 from peachtree ind to 85 north.Doraville on peachtree industrial- winters chapel tochamblee at 285. speedtrap- millions a year in revenue.favorite ploy is the bump and ticket. They run up behind you with no blue lights- you speed up to let them pass- Doraville ticket time- $350.00 go to court or not. 285 speedtrap. One half of the city budget.

Comment (3/2005): I live in an apartment complex adjacent to West Bound 285 just west of P'Tree Industrial and I can tell you that there are about 3-4 traffic stops on this Doraville stretch of highway EVERY single night..these guys are ruthless and picky.

Comment (5/2005): This is the worst! I have traveled from SC to Chattanooga for over a year, was using 285, not any more. The normal speed is 70-80 mph, flow of traffic. I was in the 2nd lane from left, cars on both sides, he wades through traffic and pulls me. He stated going kind of fast (76) I stated I was in the flow--He said "Not what I wanted to hear". Went to court, Judge reduced from $325 to $275 and 69 in a 55. I had no priors. Also, court staff has real attitude too!
