A lareg chunk of I-85 in Barrow and Jackosn counties has been annexed into the city of Braselton.. I have seen Braselton Police clocking on I-85.. Usually around twilight and usually in a dark median of hiding behind a bridge.. They are somethimes accompanied by GSP... The speed limit in this area is 70mph,but this is Georgia and it's not uncommon to look and see that you're going 90mph...
Comment (4/2005): ANSWER the interstate is a 70mph zone
Comment (2/2004): The police are usually either northbound behind the exit 126 overpass, but near the entrance ramp. They are also on the southbound side just after the exit 129 overpass/entrance ramp. I haven't noticed some of the other details originally provided, but would need to know the mile markers of their "range". I drive this route "often", usually in the late evening.
Comment (5/2004): They are between mile markers 125 and 131, headed north just as soon as you get into "Barrow" county. I drive it everyday and dont break 80mph in this zone.
Comment (5/2004): I was pulled over for a tag violation, my tag was dated may 2004 and the officer pulled me over stated unless my birthday was in the next two days the tag was expired guess what he assumed wrong, so i was pulled over for having legal tags with a assumption, then ticketed for tinted windows what a police state any one wants to do a class action with me email me thanks
Comment (6/2004): Most recently the Barrow County Sherrif has ben workin gthis stretch also. Anywhere from around mile marker 123 0r 124 north. They often like to sit between 126 and 129 in the median. This little stretch from around 123 to 129 has become quite the speed trap.
Comment (10/2004): I live in Braselton, they sit on the exits ramps at exit 126 and 129. Be careful if you are a minority, your car will probably be searched.
Comment (1/2005): Having traveled that section of I-85 regularly for the past two years, I can say the Braselton cops are still at it. On 1/19/05, I passed three separate town cruisers, parked in the grass median. The 4-pm traffic was heavy, and the sight of the totally-unnecessary Road Warriors was more than mildly irritating...like sharks waiting for an unlucky fish to swallow!
Comment (4/2005): Question is the speed limit on I 85 65 or 70
Comment (4/2005): Well...Ehat can I say, I am a native and have traveled this route many of times, but I as I approached the eact overpass that they stay at I look down to see that I was going 88 and a truck cop stopped me wrote me a ticket and then told me that according to the DMV my license did not exist, what a bunch of bologny! Anyways, seriously be warned do not speed on this section of 85, on highway 129 through Centre, on 441, 316 or any other in the area. Besides Enterprise, Alabama This is by far the number 1 speed trap in the southeast!
Comment (7/2005): yeah I agree. I was traveling in this area around exit 126 and I was clocked on a bridge going 91 in a 70. There were 8 cops that had people already pulled over on the south side of I-85. I was pulled over by an officer that did not even clock my speed. What can I do.. I was pulled over again 45 min later in college park going 79 in a 55. Please let me know what to do.
Comment (02/2008): DO NOT SPEED IN BRASELTON! I was going 101 in a 70 next thing i know i had a charger and a magnum on my ass. no chance of outrunning them! they are ALWAYS posted on the side of the road waiting for their victims. Dont try them

Town of Braselton police and State Troopers like to hang out on Hwy 211 near the interstate and Chateau Elan resort. Speed limit is 45 mph, traffic normally moves at 55-60. Tickets here are usually expensive! I know someone who was ticketed $107 for 55/45 and they had never even had a speeding ticket! They will sit on the side of the road, and cars are often pulled over on interstate on-ramps. Police also commonly sit below this bridge that crosses over the interstate. My advice here, stay below 80 mph.

These Braselton Police are always out there on the Interstate. You will see them at the 126 NB and the 129 SB. The speed limit is 70 MPH so if you are speeding, SLOW DOWN! There is one Braselton Police Officer that drives a Chevy Impala who always has someone on the side of the Interstate, pulled over. I have driven by several times where he has had someone pulled over and they are wearing handcuffs, so if you are doing anything illegal, or speeding, Dont come throught this town! Just a Warning.

The city of Braselton is trying to expand growth. This city lies at the edge of Gwinnett and Hall counties and has even put up city limit signs in parts of those counties. The police sit on the interstate at the highway 53 and highway 211 exits and radio each other whan a car goes by with a tail light out or speeding. Most common is cracked windshields or Hispanic drivers. Our plumbing company relocated due to the hispanics working for us receiving $250 to $300 fines for cracked windshields. Use caution in Braselton Ga.

Dont try them
Comment (4/2005): ANSWER the interstate is a 70mph zone
