They use X-Bandand laser in each vehicle. Speed limit is 25mph. Tickets given at anything above that....day and night
Comment (4/2005): I talked to a police officer and he said the fastest he clocked someone downtown was 65 in a 25, what was that person thinking?
Comment (10/2004): I live just 3 miles north of Ball Ground. The police are obstinate and intolerant. The locals know to stay at the speed limits but out of towners are out-of-luck if they speed here. The worst trap in Ball Ground is going west into Ball Ground on hwy 372. The speed changes from 55 to 45 to 35 to 25 all within a mile and half after entering city limits. The 45 to 35 occurs going downhill and into a curve. The police sit at a very nice strategic point on the left of the road. Your zapped before you really have a chance to slow down.
Comment (6/2005): For those of you travelling through Ball Ground, Highway 372 is a state regulated highway and the speed zones and signs are set by the State of Georgia and not Ball Ground. Also if you would read your state laws the ci6ty police must give 15 mph over the posted speed prior to even stopping the vehicle. And since most of the area that you are travelling through as you enter the city on Hwy. 372 is residential and business and I'm sure you can see the concern if you are travelling 15 mph over the posted limit.
Comment (11/2005): The Speed limits in Ball Ground are clearly posted.Staged decrease in speeds is designed to give drivers ample opportunity to decrease speedAnyone who is ticketed clearly deserves it .This is definitely not a speed trap.

Cops will pull you over for speeding in the 45mph zone. but if you get stopped there is no valid speed survey. plea not guilty and you should be let off by federal law.
