The trap cannot be seen untill you round a curve on Lake Acworth Drive, then there is a rather steep grade going down towards the lake. There is no speed limit signs posted in the North direction of traffic, but many going South. This is a regular route I travel late at night (2:30 AM to work. I have been cited twice now and both times for the same speed, which I was not speeding to begin with, and neither time has my Radar Detector Detected Radar in this area. If local and you go to court exspect to pay a high fine plus surcharges, but if you have it bound over to State Court, the fine is only $50 and no points on you licience in Cobb County.
Comment (4/2004): I've passed this trap several times late night, too. There will often be 2-3 police cars waiting just to the right after crossing the bridge between the 2 lakes, on a dirt shoulder with hardly any light since trees block the lights from the lakes. I've regularly see them just after midnight.
Comment (12/2007): I\'ve also seen one or two cop cars there during the evening rush hour times. There\'s also generally one across the street in the U-turn area.

At the intersection one traffic light north of the intersection with Highway 92, a Cobb County police officer sits parked between the traffic lanes and left turn lane of the southbound side of the highway on the opposite side of the intersection. It appears he is waiting for the light to change or make a turn, but as you pass by, you will see his radar gun in hand. The posted speed limit in this area is 55mph, but traffic moves on average anywhere between 60-70mph. Beware and stay alert, common sense will help you more than anything.

A motorcycle police officer will sit parked on the sidewalk at the bottom of a sweeping hill right before the actual residences in the neighborhood. As you come around the turn, it is difficult to slow to the posted limit of 25mph and at times seems ungodly slow. Regardless the Cobb County officers will sit there in the morning waiting for students on their way to school, or in the evening waiting for people returning from work. They will not pull you over for 30-35mph, but do be careful as anything above that is fair game.

when coming from I-75, passing Mohawk Dr. SE on the right, the road starts to dip(slow to speed limit NOW!) and before you start the incline/right curve. just b4 the right curve the treeline ends and the officer can see you from where he is parked. you will see a stop sign for Tanyard Creek Rd SE(on the left). when stopped at the stop sign you will see the officer on the right parked behind postal boxes on Randy Way facing Glade Rd. seen more often than on late night but have seen in that same spot during rush hour waiting for someone not paying attention to not make a COMPLETE stop at that stop sign
