Traps are set up spurratically. SR 70 is a straight road through nothing. The posted speed limit is 60 MPH and it is very difficult to obey. I was driving along at what I felt was a safe a prudent speed and I was clocked doing 75 MPH in my Mini Cooper. After my ticket I tried to do 60 MPH and it felt like a slow crawl. I found myself creeping back up to 75MPH over and over again. There were 10 State Troopers waiting for the unfortunate ones that got nabbed. I was pulled over with 7 other vehicles ranging from SUV's to an old lady driving a Camry.

Comment (1/2006): I may be mistaken, but I think the person that made this comment is talking about Arcade, not Arcadia. Arcade is definitely a speedtrap, and they will definitely get you for 6 over.

Comment (12/2005): Hwy 82 coming or going to Athens is a speed trap right in the City Limits of Arcadia. Its a 4 lane hwy. The cop there tried to say that I was going 65 in a 45. I had just passed a 55 mph marker just outside town, sped up to 62, and hit the cruise control when he came around the corner and pulled me over. I couldn't beleive it. I was going 6 mph over speed limit and this cop would hear none of it. Just beware of this little town. Its a racket!

Comment (3/2006): this is Arcadia Florida and not Georgia, The Desoto prison is in Arcadia Florida, and this all is very true about state highway 70, as i tried to post it under Florida, Arcadia and Okeechobee are in central Florida
