Barrow County Sheriff's deputies routinely "hide" on the south side of 316 approx. 50 yds. down Craft Rd. This is 1 mi. west of the Oconee Co. line travelling east on Ga. 316. The Barrow Co. duputies pursue their quarry into Oconee Co. at extremely high rates of speed to issue a speeding citation, not in "hot pursuit" of a felon.

Comment (3/2006): The enforcement on 316 is warranted. There are too many fatality accidents on 316. The deputies are fair in this county. I've been pulled over for a simple matter and dealt with respectfully, honestly, and fairly. I give the Barrow County deputies high marks for fair enforcement. Keep to the posted limit and you will be fine on 316....but beware when you get into the new construction zone in Gwinnett near I-85...very stiff speeding fines there!

Comment (7/2005): I totally agree, sometimes there are two that sit there and wait. There are not careful when they pull onto 316, they come close sometimes to striking other vehicles just to make their revenue. They will not give you a warning either, so be careful

Comment (7/2005): I guess you're just a gifted person, who just by seeing a vehicle can detect if a felon my be driving. Your skill could be very effective in law enforcement.

Comment (9/2005): Yep, I've seen at least 12 people pulled over here, and just today was pulled over by these freaks. the cop said I was doing 81, I had my cruise control set on 72. ever notice that they have had that SAME "construction" sign set up for over three months, with NO construction, at 53? HMMM... to that last post, whateryu, a cop or something? you missed his jest, it was to say, that these police act with total disregard, for a simple speeding violation, NOT a felony police dispatch call. use your head, man.

Comment (11/2005): Uh, maybe the deputies wouldn't travel at "extremely high rates of speed" if you weren't speeding to begin with.
