Driving north on I-75 to Atlanta, the trap begins after passing Ford Factory, motorcycle cops sit and wait for speeders coming down the hill just before Cleveland Avenue. They are there everyday I come home in the later afternoon.

Officers travel in flattop patrol cars in the far right hand lane, or on the right hand shoulder with the door open, picking off unsuspecting motorists as they reach the top of the hill (I-75N), or very inconspicuous motorcycles. It is very possible to not see them until it is too late, especially in high traffic. When you are nearing this area, beware of your surroundings...they come from nowhere!

Georgia State Patrol situates themselves on Interstate 75 near the Moores Mill overpass, either on the northbound, or southbound side of the highway. Traffic is comming from a posted 65 mile per hour zone into a posted 55mph zone. Traffic is also comming around a blind curve and a rise in the grade of the highway. The officers are positioned so that they can capture the speed of motorists as they are comming out of a curve, and are going down a slight downgrade.

Motorcycle cops sit under the overpass at the bottom of the hill on the right side of 400, just before you come to the toll plaza area. They are hard to notice because of the shadows, until it's too late. Going downhill on a long straight stretch of highway at 55 mph is difficult.

Motorcycle cop sitting by big ramps going up to/down from station, hard to see unless you are really looking for them - if you have your eyes open, you can see them before they get you with the laser gun. I had to learn this the hard way - was traveling 91 and it drops to a 55 there - $250 fine. It's like shooting fish in a barrel for the guys that make their living by taking bread off your table for no good reason. Beware on the Alpharetta Autobon (spelling?)

This trap isn't well concealed at all. It is at the apex of a very shallow turn. They were using laser although they may be using radar as well. Because the spot is not well concealed they are pointing the laser pretty far out. I have seen this site active from 4:45PM to 8PMish, although it very well may operate more than that. Also be aware there is another speed trap on the Shallowford Road exit itself!

Georgia State Patrol using LIDAR to catch speeders coming off entrance ramp to overcome trucks. Usually sits on far right hand median, shooting LIDAR across traffic to Lane 1 or 2. Tickets are handed over to City of Atlanta even though it is Cobb County. My fine was $315 for 27 MPH over in a 55.

posted 25 mph on a good two lane road with commercial on it and can clearly support higher speeds. Patrol car is at entrance to office park on left going from Cheshire Bridge to Briarcliff and as you go down a steep hill, will clock you. Since 25 is too slow for the conditions anyway, as you pick up speed on the downslope of the hill, you will exceed 25 easily. There was one patrol car and two motor cycle cops waiting that day and they pulled over a driver behind me also.

They are are on both sides of the highway. You must contend with Ga State Patrol and College Park Police. Late night you will get pulled over going 65 or above, but other times of day it is above 80. The speed limit on I-85S increases to 65 mph in less than two miles from airport area.

When you take a right off the Cumberland Blvd exit (75N) and come around the curve back to the left, he's sitting int the median about a half mile down. You don't see him until he's alredy got you. Posted speed limit is 35mph, but you naturally go much faster as it's a slight downhill and 2 lanes of extremely light traffic each direction.

There was a nest of Ga State Patrol enforcers located on I-20 Eastbound just east of the Downtown Connector (I-75/85). Clocked me with laser doing 81 in a 55, and his buddies just ahead of us pulled over several other drivers. Traffic was moderate and most other drivers were doing 75-80mph. Was last day of the month so they may have been trying to make their quota.
