Comment (6/2006): A friend of mine told me of a time when his Lidatek saved him from cop laying in the grass by the W hotel. His detector/diffusor went off by the Waikiki Aquarium and didn't know what could be triggering off his unit. When he progressed down the road further he saw the cop laying in the grass. crazy.

Comment (10/2006): Yup, I work a pizza delivery job and I witnessed this speed trap.

Comment (12/2007): This one is particularly tricky; I walked by it three times in Nov. HPD would park behind a civilian van or large SUV & step out quickly with a laser gun, nailing approaching cars way down the road before they could see the trap. Each time, I counted 5-8 people getting ticketed (at a time!) Lack of proper lighting does a good job hiding the units and the long, straight stretch makes it easy to speed.
