I drive this stretch every day to & from work, & there are weeks that I see multiple people stopped every day, both directions. Start looking around the Douglas Ave exit, but the chances get greater the closer you get to the Merle Hay Road exit... I'm not even sure where the troopers sit, because they are *always* pulled over with someone. I think they like to try to catch the out-of-towners.

Comment (7/2002): This area is more apt to be patrolled by Urbandale police at the HWY 141 curve of I-80/35. They sit on either side of the concrete median barrier, can't be seen by opposite travelling traffic, and run radar over the barrier. Heavily patrolled at this area. In town - out of town, they don't care.

Comment (3/2003): Urbandale cops use laser in the Rider Corner area (curve in I-80/35 at the Grimes exit) - usually in the PM rush hours. Car sits along the Jersey barrier between the lanes in what is a pretty dangerous location.
