Side rode next to Interstate 35/80 in western suburb of Des Moines, Iowa. South off Hickman Road to resturants. 35 mph winds through new car lots then over a small hump bridge. As you come over the bridge the speed limit drops to 25mph, but it is too late to slow, as the cop with the speed gun clocks you coming down off the bridge. The speed limit changes back to 35mph 50 yards further on, and there is no reason for the speed drop except to gather revenue for the city of Clive. No warnings are given and the cop is rude, and looking for an excuse to fine you further, so LOOK OUT!.

Comment (6/2005): The street is 25mph beginning at its intersection with Hickman Road and remains as such until it is past the library, aquatics center, and the greenbelt bike trail where it changes to 35 mph. That 1/2 mile is designed for 25 mph and with 100's of children and adults in those areas it only makes sense to have it be 25mph.

Comment (5/2005): It's drops to 25mph in the area where there is high pedestrian traffic. A bike path and an aquatic center are in the 25 mph area with families and children walking across the street. Obviously this important fact was left out for the reason of the speed change...

Comment (5/2005): Your right it is enforced heavily but the seepd limit is 25 from hickman all the way north just past city hall. its not 35mph by the car lots and the street is 114th street not 50th. theres not even a 50th street in clive.

Comment (12/2005): that isn't 50th st. there is no 50th st in clive.
