Unlit and largely unpopulated industrial area of 4-lane 45 mph road between Camanche and Clinton is heavily patroled. They know this ia a money maker. Yet a local trucking Co is largely exempt from such restrictions.
Comment (3/2006): I disagree. I travel this road a lot and have never had a problem with it. It is a one mile stretch of road. The speed limit is 45 mph. Most drivers are traveling 50 to 60 mph. In the last 5 years I have only seen a radar set up three times. In my bood this does not constitute a speed trap.
Comment (6/2006): I agree, I travel this road daily, and it is not unusal to see a squad car sitting, or simply on patrol along this section of highway. The officers in this town have written speeding tickets for 4mph over the limit.
Comment (6/2006): I travel this road many times a year, at all hours of the day and night, and see very little of the police. It would seem that those who gripe are the ones caught. To them that constitutes a trap.
Comment (7/2006): I agree I live in Camanche. I have yet to get a ticket, But the entire town is a speed trap.
