The cops in this town really like to give everyone with a polk county plate a hard time. The local was picked on alot as a kid and now he is back for some revenge. I am 19 years old and i have NEVER recieved a speeding ticked that wasnt a simple warning outside of COLFAX, IOWA... The law enforcement is rediclousely packed in this small community, the will and do pull you over for absolutely anything. A tire is too bald..theres $25 out of your pocket and perhaps you were making a simple ther and back trip...They will find something to write you up for, and will likely search your vehicle if you dont have jasper county plates.

Comment (11/2006): I totally agree with this person. You get stopped for the dumbest things. I lived in the Des Moines area for about 3 years and had a truck with tinted windows and never got stop. Well I went thru Colfax and got stopped for that reason and for not having my license plate in the right place on my truck.

Comment (11/2006): The Colfax Police Officers are very fair you will only be pulled over if you are in violation of any iowa laws if not you have nothing to worry about.

Comment (02/2008): I lived in Colfax for 2 years with Webster county plates on both vehicles. I never got stopped for any reason the whole time! I was never speed though, or any other violations.
