Construction zone in two way two lane area on Hwy 151 has speed limit of 55 mph, then four lane area of 65 mph. Lots of problems with slow moving vehicles. Speed enforcement was very much appreciated. I really can't consider this a speed trap, its proper enforcement for a problem area.
Comment (4/2003): Current status toward highway completion makes the previous statement outdated, at best.
Comment (11/2003): Deputy Sheriff sits at the bottom of either of two hills as aproaching from the west. This is a speed trap; when tickets are issued at 5:30 am (no traffic, no construction)(at the bottom of a hill) it's a money maker. If your lively-hood depends on driving there is usually a method of paying penance to void the record bearing citation -- this does not apprear to be the case in Anamosa. I terminated a salesman who received a ticket in the area described -- I had no choice; the insurance company would not insure him. There's a fellow out there (with 3 kids) not working because he was charged with 81 in a 65 and could not prove otherwise or bear any punishment other than a recorded moving violation. I do hope he is collecting welfare from Jones County.
