ISP sits just east of the truck weight station in the middle of the highway on a emergency service access road. You can't see him until it's to late as there is a small hill that blocks him for your view. I've seen them here regularly in the mornings mainly aiming at the west bound traffic. Slow down when you see the first weight station signs. Also about mile post 70 in the median they hide behind the only bushes in that area. They mainly get the westbound traffic. The spot is just east of the Boise Stage Stop. Slow down before that exit and you will be ok. One more spot is the rest area going west just outside of Boise. Right after you pass this rest stop, on your left behind a small rise will be a ISP or Ada county Sheriff.
Comment (10/2003): Police officers are not allowed to legally hide and radar people, they must be in plain sight, otherwise it violates entrapment laws. If you get ticketed by a cop who was hiding, bring that up with a judge and the ticket should get thrown out
Comment (8/2004): Well now that the Bike cops are out you don't have to worry too much about them hidding anymore. I will say this much, the boise area is a speed trap, and the best part is that they use laser to be sure and get you.
Comment (11/2003): If you are going to throw around the word "entrapment" you should look up the definition. From the mouth of the U.S. Supreme Court, entrapment is defined as making sombody do something the wouldn't normally do. Was someone else pushing down on your gas pedal while you resisted? Tell that story to the judge as he takes your $53.00.
Comment (2/2005): to the person that wrote the entrapment comment. i don't know where you are from or what the laws are there but in idaho a police officer can hide any way they want and run radar. if you do something against the law in public they don't have to give you a chance to stop before they can take action for it.
