Barrington Road just north of Route 68 (Dundee Road). Police sit on the west side of the road, just over a hill as you travel north bound. They park in the grass at the entrance to the Governor's Park Hospice Center. Speed limit is 40 - dropping to 35. The speed limit just prior to this area is 55, so drivers have a hard time dropping to 45 and then 40 through the area. Sometimes the police will park further north up Barrington Road at Cornell Street. This is at the bottom of the long hill and somewhat hidden behind a building sign at the corner of the lot. The area of the speed trap is a combination of businesses, homes and marshes.

Comment (4/2005): I agree. I have seen many folks pulled over here. Between Dundee and Cornell. It is true that the speed changed from 55 to 35 in about 1.5 miles and if you're not paying close attention you will miss the signs.

Comment (12/2005): Ive gotten nailed here, they also sit at the road at the bottom of the hill.

Police sit parked on the west side of Dundee Avenue where Monument Avenue ends at the Evergreen Cemetary. Police sit in the entrance to the cemetary. Speed limit was 30 mph but just recently was dropped to 25 mph. Dundee Avenue is a major "cut-through" for morning traffic coming from the Lake-Cook Road area and Route 14/Hart Road area. These vehicles are accessing southbound Route 59 without having to travel through congested Downtown Barrington. (The opposite direction at night.) Quiet little bustling Barrington residents don't like these cut-through drivers. Police also sit at the intersections of Dundee Avenue/Lincoln Avenue and Dundee Avenue/Hillside Avenue to catch drivers going through Stop Signs. Barrington is making a lot of money from this street!

Brinker Rd is like rollercoaster ride, goes up and with steep downs - it is hard to notice when going over 40 m/h speed limit due to surrounding trees, landscape and road layout. Cops are waiting at the bottom of the steepest hill, half mile before STOP sign at Otis Rd. intersection.
