Local city police in SUV typically set up at each end of town along Rt. 52 in the morning and afternoon. Posted limit is 30 mph.

Comment (12/2002): Both marked Police Vehicles (SUV and marked car) have been seen sitting in corn fields approximately 2 to 3 miles (1200 block of Sterling Road) west of Amboy in a corn field conducting a speed trap. There is no posted speed signs along Sterling road between what is believed to be the edge of Amboy City Limit (No City Limit Signs are present at the edge of town either) and Corregidor Road.

Comment (11/2003): Roads outside of city limits with no posted speed limits in Illinois are 60MPH as opposed to 55. Just in case your on the borderline with a reckless driving ticket

Comment (4/2004): I don't know were the last comment got his information. Speed limits are NOT 60mph outside city limts when not posted. On blacktops which are not posted the speed is 55mph. The only place u can drive over 55 is on the interstate. I did recieve a citatoin in Amboy, but did deserve it and was treated fairly.
