Alorton police sit in various locations along Hwy.15 between East St.Louis and Hwy.157.Will pull you over even if you're 2-3 miles over the speed limit.This town is in a very high crime area but the local police seem to spend all their time patrolling just this highway.

Comment (4/2002): Another trick of the Alorton PD is to sit in the entrance to the old horsetrack @ the Pocket Road and Rt. 15 stoplight and hide behind a sign which has been strategically placed so that their car can sit on the edge of the stoplight sensor loop. Then what happens is when you are Eastbound and approaching the stoplight and don't see anyone sitting there, all of a sudden, the light changes. I have seen several people run through the light, only to be surprised with a ticket for running a red light.
