unmarked camero's, various crown vics and a blue taurus plus regular marked cars, i got a ticket for 65 in a 55, hwy 37 was designed originaly for 70-80 mph speeds, its pretty much straight with long sweeping hills here and there. cops are milking this stretch!! why are cops hiding!? isnt it better if people know they are present so they wont be tempted!? and cameros!? come on!! these things cost a ton and they go wayyy too fast!! the majority of cops killed in the line of duty is do to high speed chases! is it worth it over a speeding ticket?

Comment (8/2003): The only reason the limit is 55 on SR37 is because of crossroads. That's means it's not limited access. HWY41 is the same way. It's frustrating, but just watch yourself out there.

Comment (10/2003): Is it worth it over a speeding ticket? Well I'll allow you to tell the parents of the next 100 teenagers killed in traffic accidents I encounter due to their reckless driving. Cameros are a great tool to combat agressive drivers, do you suppose people driving recklessly continue to do so when being followed by marked patrol car? They allow law enforcement to due their job and enforce the law in an effective manner.

Comment (11/2003): for your information a Camero squad car is actually less than a Crown Vic package. The reason for buying such a fast car is to deter people from trying to outrun them.

Comment (1/2004): I was going to say the same thing about the cost of the Camaro. They are about the same in cost.

Comment (3/2004): Statistically, these Camaros don't reduce the "hundreds of teenagers killed" because of reckless driving. They do pull over people who don't realize they are unmarked cars. However, people who drive recklessly, and their aren't many I drive the stretch everyday, could care less about cops when in the act.
