Construction zone on Hwy 54 that extends approx 1/4 mile both East and West of Andover Rd has a reduced speed of 45mph. However, this reduced speed extends 1 mile both East and West of Andover Rd. This is approx 1/2 mile of unneeded reduced speed both East and West of this construction zone. Also, there is no indication of a reduced speed in either direction if you turn onto Hwy 54 from Andover Rd.

Comment (9/2005): Also in this area during the construction, this is a good place for them to conduct a soberity check point. It is usually right before a holiday or during same.

Comment (3/2006): Construction area signs and lowered speed limits were left in place long after construction work was completed. This seems to be a common practice in Kansas.
