166 Bypass is a new divided 4 lane highway that has 40 mph speed limit signs. No residences or businesses are located on this strip of highway. Great way to generate revenue for Arkansas City.

Comment (7/2006): a great many people traveling east and west crossing the by-pass aare still adjusting to north/south traffic NOT stopping. The by-pass hasn't been FULLY open until the last 4 months or so.......a great many folks think they're on the interstate or on a divided 4 lane and do 70....yeah there are a couple of spots where speed is reduced...but nothng outrageous.....slow down a little and enjoy the day

when you drive north into kansas from oklahoma on U.S.77 there is a newly completed bypass to go around Arkansas city.the speed limit goes from 45 to 55 to 65 and is not approiately marked.it is a new 4 lane and 65 has been the speed limit both north and south of the by pass.there is a state tooper making a killing on unsuspectin motorist.
