In all of Clay County there is a work zone on the Daniel Boone/Hal Rogers Parkway that rarely has work done on it. A State Vehicle Enforcement officer issues tickets (no warnings) for this stretch of parkway. The normal speed limit is 65mph. In work zones it is 45mph. At this location, the work zone is almost a farce. Parkways in Kentucky usually connect rural areas over long distances with very limited access ramps. Our parkways usually have 10-15 people per minute to pass a mile marker at given time of day. However, if work is being done here or any other work zone....speeders deserve jail time with the ticket! My main issue is that this particular department was designed to police semi-trucks that could possibly be trafficking illegal substances. Unfortunately, that issue is being severely compromised, since our frontline soldiers to help champion our battle against drugs are busy writing speeding tickets. This spot of Kentucky needs all their available officers. Please slow down so we can win our battle against drugs. God Bless You.

Comment (3/2006): the speed limit on the db/hr parkway is 55 not 65 even though everyone including police go 65 & more

Comment (3/2006): The official speedlimit on the Daniel Boone / Hal Rogers Parkway is 55 MPH.
