Speed limit goes from 55mph to 45mph -- then back to 55mph -- then back once again to 45mph. All in a short distance. (not counting the 35mph school zone). I have seen police cars from Ball speeding in Alexandria and Pineville. They were not after anyone. No lights were flashing and the sirene was not on. I did not see this one time, but many times. They are not interested in inforceing the law when they write you a ticket. They just want your money.

Speed limit drops to 45 in a rural 4 lane road area with few entrances or stores. Unreasonable speed limit.

Ball Police will sit in the center median, especially at night, so they are hard to see, they drive dark blue cars, so at night when they don't have any lights on, they are practically invisible, and will write you a ticket for as little as 1 or 2 miles over posted speed limit
