Going down Hwy 1, you will go through the 3 red-light town of Brusly where the speed limit is 45, and they love to write tickets and impound vehicles if you don't have proof of insurance.

Brusly is one of the worst speed traps in this State if not in the country. For some reason it has slipped under the radar screen for a long time. Brusly is a town of about 1,500. LA Highway 1 runs through the middle of the town for about a stretch of 1.5 miles. Speed limit changes from 55 to 45 and they sit there right at the change ready to write a ticket to anyone doing 51+. Could not tell you an exact number, but it is obvios a large part of the town's revenue is generated by traffic tickets and there is no shortage of over zealous cops waiting for you to make the smallest mistake. Be sure to watch out for the inspection sticker check points as well.

The men in Blue sit in the Middle school parking lot and shoot radar in both directions. The southbound speed limit drops from 55 to 30 through a curve to the right. There is no whay you will see the cruiser.

Right after you pass the "Welcome to Brusly" The speed limit is 55 mph. Slow down immediately when you see the red flags. The fuzz hang out in the turnaround places, grass, service roads, under the trees and behind just about everything. The trap is that the speed limit drops to 45 after the traffic light. If you try to beat the yellow light then you're toast! They'll catch you if you go over 5 miles.
