A Cheneyville City Police officer in his car hides behind trees and a curve in the road so that you don't notice him till you're about 100 feet away. Speed limit signs quickly go from 45 to 35. This particular representative of Cheneyville's finest decided I was in the 35 mph zone even though I hadn't yet crossed into it. I'm glad I had my camera with me. I'll see him in court.

They have a cop that sits at the south end on Hwy 71 where the speed limit goes from 55 to 45 to 35 all within .2 miles of each other. Cop waits in curve at the 35mph sign and clocks you in the 45mph area.

Cheneyville, LA is notorious for their local cops, shooting radar on US71, the main drag through town, between Baton Rouge, and Alexandria, LA. The speed limit on US71 is 60 mph, and breaks nicely to 45 mph, then to 35 mph, through town. Over 10 mph citation-fine was $93.00, in the mid-'90s. Be forewarned to watch your speedometer in Cheneyville.
