As you enter Blanchard north bound in from Shreveport, the police have photo radars that take your picture and then they send you a ticket in the mail. The radar is huge and set on the side of the roadway and a cop is just ahead of the trap.
Comment (3/2006): As a Blanchard resident and officer, you are so full of B.S. ! WE DO NOT HAVE NOR HAVE WE EVER HAD " PHOTO RADAR UNITS" and NO ONE gets sent a ticket in the mail. The area in question goes from 65 mph to 55 mph with warnings of the speed change starting 3/4 of a mile BEFORE you hit the 55 mph zone. If you got a ticket there YOU WERE SPEEDING! Don't call it a "speed trap", our policies are very lenient ( our speed allowance is a LOT more than you think it would be ) and if you did get a ticket we BOTH KNOW you were exceeding the speed limit by a LOT!
Comment (4/2006): I am also a Blanchard Resident, you are totally wrong, I agree that they are very easy on speeders, if you get stopped, you have to really be exceeding the limit, BTW, the officer from Blanchard, if you ever see a jacked up white ford with a Team High Lifter sticker in the rear window, please give me a break if you ever pull me over, LOL, good day!
