As you come into town on 165 from the south (Monroe, Sterlington) you will come to a big bend to the right. This is the area refered to as "Point Pleasant" where there was an old French trading post. There are now bars, a convenience store and a truck stop in the curve. The limit drops quickly to 35 and the police are waiting there, ticket book in hand.

Comment (9/2006): Limit does not drop quickly. The speed limit is 65mph coming in from the south..it drops to 50mph, with sign clearly in sight. Then the limit goes to 45mph and then to 35mph as you enter the city limits.
