The south end of Allen parish beginning along interstate 10 to Fenton in allen parish is particularly nasty with constant roving patrols of the area. these guys will stop you for passing a slow vehicle in front of you and exceeding 55 mph long enough to get around. traffic is usually pretty heavy no matter what time of day it is and a lot of slow local traffic is encountered at any time. usually running 35-45 mph. traffic cops are out of jeff davis parish/jennings and are not lenient at all. major source of income for jeff davis parish.

Comment (3/2006): I-10 to Above Fenton, La. along US HWY.165 is in Jeff Davis Parish. Jeff Davis Parish is Strict on speed control.

Comment (4/2006): THIS IS A FALSE STATEMENT: I have written the SpeedTrap Exchange to advise them of the problem but it hasn't been corrected as yet, The location is not in Allen Parish its in Jeff Davis Parish. Allen Parish doesn't start on hwy 165 till your 5 miles south of Kinder Louisiana and the ends on north 165 about 5 miles north of Oakdale Louisiana. So please know that Allen Parish is not a speed trap location in Louisiana

Comment (8/2006): Other's Comments - 8/10/06- CORRECTION THIS IS Jefferson Davis Parish and not Allen Parish. You are correct about it being a speed trap, many tickets are written and the speed limit is strictly enforced. I live in Allen Parish and have received three tickets on this strip over the years. But, the parish issuing the tickets were Jefferson Davis and not Allen Parish. Allen Parish doesn't start on hwy 165 till your 5 miles south of Kinder Louisiana and the ends on north 165 about 5 miles north of Oakdale Louisiana. So please know that Allen Parish is not a speed trap location in Louisiana. Once you travel thru Allen Parish on you are traveling on HWY 165 toward Alexandria, Louisiana, BEWARE OF WOODWORTH, LA LOCATED IN RAPIDES PARISH. You will be ticketed for going 2 miles over the ever changing speed limits. The the 2 police officer SPEED TRAP, solely supports the no red light town. They are famous for issuing up to 7 or 8 citation on one speeding or other traffic stop. Look at their new post office, fire station, city hall, park and various other brand new buildings. The old ones were very nice, but they can well afford to keep building, new ones. They pay for everything with our fine money and court cost. They hold mayor's court in the hick town and the conviction rate is 100%. It is a horrible problem that state or federal goverment refuses to address.
