The Umass cops are worse than the Mass staties here. Don't think of going 1 MPH over the posted limit, because they'll catch you, staple on an extra 20 mph, and send you on your way, only to lose to the corrupt Northampton courts. I've already been nailed twice for something I honestly didn't do here.

Comment (12/2003): me too... ive been hit twice, once in hadley and once in northampton. both times i wasnt doing anything wrong and curiously enough, both times, the cops came from AROUND A BEND IN THE ROAD, passed me, and then turned their lights on.....

Comment (5/2005): Thhis person is right do not take what he said lightly, u-mass police are the most anal cops out in this area especially on weekend nights. I was even told by the umpd that the officers are bored at night and alwasy looking for somthing to do.

Comment (9/2005): I've been going to school here for 5 years and never got a ticket. I wonder if it has to do with what time of the night one is traveling.
