Be very careful on this approx 25 mile stretch. The state and local police patrol it heavily. Marked and Unmarked cars and trucks. Vics, Caprices, F150, Broncos, K1500, corvettes to name a few.
Comment (8/2002): Hot spots to watch: 1. Westbound, approaching Exit 19. As you crest the long uphill grade, you will see a large overhead road sign extending across the entire Westbound side ahead. You can't see what is behind that sign at theparticular angle you are at, when you crest the hill. THAT is where the State Police hide, on the grassy area just after the ramp for Exit 19, and they get plenty of "customers" at this point. 2. Westbound, Exit 20. After you go under the bridge that crosses over the hiway at Exit 20, SLOW DOWN as you go downthe long hill. Here's why: as you get to the on-ramp from Exit 20 for the Westbound side, look in your rear-view mirror UP THE ONRAMP! The State Police sit about halfway back up the onramp, in the grass, so you can't see themuntil it's TOO LATE. :^) GOTCHA! 3. Eastbound, after Exit 19. After you crest the hill that is after Exit 19, you have a LONG downgrade. There are twopalces they hide on this long downgrade: 1. On the left, in the median, about halfway down. 2. On the right, at the end of the guard-rail, about halfway down.
