The length of Belmont av. and Trapelo road into Waverly square has a posted speed of 30 MPH. Patrol cars are often parked along the side of the road, and will stop you for any speed over 30. I have been stopped twice along this stretch, but both times issued only warnings ... so be curteous!

Posted 25 mph limit is unrealistically low for two wide lanes in each direction. Usually marked cruisers on either side of the road, but they may be obscured by other parked vehicles. Likely to ticket for any speed above the posted limit.

Strict speed enforcement on Belmont St. between Trapelo Rd. and the Cambridge line. Posted 30mph speed is unrealistic given the width of the road and usual traffic conditions--estimated 85th percentile speed would probably be 35 or 40mph. Town police are out with K-band radar. Enforcement is especially intensive in the eastbound direction during AM rush hour.

Town police cruiser parked at side of road frequently partially hidden behind a parked car, either eastbound or westbound. Speed limit 30. It is a divided road, and the temptation is to exceed 30 mph. Don't. Older model radar in use thru front or rear window of cruiser.

Th police hide in the parking lot of the Exxon on the corner of Concord Avenue and Brighton Street. They try and catch people traveling towards Freshpond. There is also a cop usually hiding in the drive-thru area of Sterling Cleaners.
