Northbound between Centre St and Jamaicaway, just pass the Faulkner Hospital on your right side. Usually 3-4 officers as a group and they are giving tickets at a short section posted 25mph. Each morning I have to be very careful to pass that section and I usually saw 4-5 cars were caught as a group.

Officer hides in front of his car with a handheld Lidar gun. He'll zap you from distances from 700-1500 feet (I know...the lidar should be so weak at that point) Even with LIDAR, I don't see how he can pick you out from 6 lanes of traffic...but oh well.

As people go down hill into the tunnel at the bottom of the Tobin Bridge ramp which is a 45 zone they do not typically reduce speed to 30 in the tunnel. Those guys will sit inside the mouth of the tunnel on the other side and radar into the tunnel, as if they could single out any one car that way

Motorcycle cops stand at end of tunnel and motion offenders to pull over upon exit. It is an easy trap because it's very tempting to speed in the usually unenforced tunnel. They also catch you before the road starts slopping up, so you may be going faster without realizing.

There's always a cop, mostly at night times, parked on the other side of the median on Rt.9W/Boylston street outbound from Boston towards Wellesley, just before the Gulf(?) gas station around 900 Boylston street. The road is a bit slopy and the speed limit changes every one mile. The cop stays on the other side of the median on 9E, just next to the median channel so he can quickly swerve around, and catch you on the opposite side while you are merrily going down the slope in the 40 MPH zone.

This section of tunnel is incorrectly marked as 45 mph; it should be 55 mph. I was caught doing 61 in the "45" by a state trooper standing beside his vehicle in a right-hand curve in the tunnel. No leniency was provided despite my good driving record, excellent road conditions, and the stated fact that I'd just come off an long overseas flight with my wife and we were unfamiliar with the new road and had no reason to believe that section was a 45. That's state troopers for you!

When coming over the Mass Ave. bridge (over the Charles River) into Boston, there commonly is at night an officer in a patrol car watching for speeding vehicles. The limit over the bridge is 35 (I believe) but it is common to see vehicles going 50-55+ on this bridge during late night when there is minimal traffic on the bridge. The officer will sit on the first small road on the right side between the river and the first traffic light, and you do not see him until you are just passing by him.

This is a new trap now that 93 south is underground. Reduce speed to 40 MPH as you cross the Leonard P. Zakum Bridge. State Troopers sit on the far left side of the tunnel, usually 5 or more at a time using up to two guns flagging speeders over as they come down hill to the underground portion. This trap comes out after 10:30 at night on weeknights, and many people get pulled over. I cannot stress it strong enough watch your speed in the downtown section of 93 south. The Logan Airport Access road that leads to the toll plaza entering the Ted Williams tunnel has a posted limit of 15 Miles per hour (this is on the multi lane divided roadway) Most cars are doing 35mph - I was doing 38.5mph - a $230 ticket + insurance charges. I am going to fight.

As you come over a rise travelling east (the bridge that crosses Route 9) the road bears right and down. At the bottom of the hill they sit in wait. They were pulling cars over as quickly as they could write up the tickets. This area is posted 30 mph (which I went back and drove) and cars were passing me going at least 10-15 faster than the speed limit. I really felt unsafe driving 30 mph.

four state troopers waiting at the end of ramp. the highway speed limit is 55 mph however that changes all in a manner of a second to 30 mph as you approach the end of the ramp. beware, this is an extremely easy trap to fall into and the fines are ridiculous as a result of the change in speed limits.
